Duncan Carter from Phoenix Resourcing Services is our guest in this chapter of Member Spotlight. They selected Ultimatum for their go to theme while building their new site which we enjoyed seeing the awesome result.

Can you introduce yourself to us?

Phoenix Resourcing Services Ltd (PRS), is a recruitment company that operate through-out the United Kingdom. Specialising in the following areas; Technical, Facilities Management, Property Management, Executive, Support Services, Construction & Trades and Energy recruitment.

How long have you been using WordPress?

Just over a year now, due to wanting to keep the website in-house

When and how did you meet Ultimatum?

Literally only about 4 months ago – I read some reviews in regards to having a blank canvas to work from – but also the tools to make it look fantastic – using some of my own html and css as well.

What was the feature made you buy Ultimatum?

I would have to say the layout builder – because you have complete control over the design for each page using your own css or html – and then you can improve it further using the widgets available.

How did Ultimatum effect your workflow?

Save huge amounts of time because of setting universal header and footer and also the built-in css generator

How many sites you have built with Ultimatum may you give us some examples?

Just one for now, my current companies website www.prsjobs.com – however I will definitely use for any further website projects.

What was the most challenging part of your project with Ultimatum?

Having only worked on this current project, the only challenging aspect was editing plugins for my own benefit. Using Wonder Loops plugin did help displaying some posts on the front page – because it accepts any type of code.

What do you love most about Ultimatum?

Speed! With so many plugins to choose from, I think the ultimatum core does a great job making sure it doesn’t slow down the website with combining JS and also using CDN’s where necessary.

Also Ultimatum utilising Bootstrap 3, which is making use of the best web technologies with ease.

What do you think Ultimatum lacks?

Integrating Google Analytics or maybe a built in SEO plugin – that would improve it a lot.

How would you rate Ultimatum Support?

Fantastic! Ultimatum has a great support forum which you can find most answers to problems with ease and you can get help easily.

Do you have any recommendations to our users?

Utilize Cloudflare – comes standard now with most web hosting companies – they have a free version – but also offer a paid version – which is worth it – but also get a server which has good caching.

Make sure you spend time getting SEO right on your website – you don’t want to do all that hard work making the site look great and not get the results.

Do you want people to contact you if so how?
