With the imminent release of the second alpha for Bootstrap 4 by the Bootstrap team, it still seems like only yesterday that the two founding team members, Mark Otto (@mdo) and Jacob Thornton (@fat) released the Twitter Bootstrap framework. PHP 7: Evolution or Revolution?
PHP 7 is coming, soon. The current planned release date is November 12 2015 and so we are counting the days. Next week will see the release of Release Candidate #5 and the end of October will see the final Release Candidate, #6. For those readers who know their server setups, you will be using one of the PHP5 series, hopefully 5.5 or 5.6, as 5.4 and earlier are all End of Life, meaning no support or security fixes. (more…)

Google: Being mobile friendly is a must
Are you using a mobile friendly WordPress theme? Why? They’re calling it Mobilegeddon. In case you missed, Google recently made this announcement:
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.
Which means if you want to rank high in Google your WordPress site needs to be optimised for mobile experience.
